#FG2W Part 2: Creation

Welcome back to the series where we discover together how to go from girl to woman.

Last time I posted for this series the huge topic was equality. What did you learn? Did it give you a different view of equality and what it means? Have you put it into practice? Don’t hesitate to comment your answer below.

It was pointed out that God made both man and woman in His image and in His likeness. Both man and woman was at the pinnacle of God’s creation and neither sex is exalted or depreciated.

Now that we have established that, let’s look at the “pinnacle of God’s creation” part for a minute. Since we are the pinnacle or peak of creation that gives us a certain greater value, right? Well, what makes the creation of a woman so valuable? What was so unique about the creation of a woman?

That’s going to be the topic for today…. The creation of a woman.

So, you know me. I like to make it spicy for you. First, let’s look at the definition of “creation” from my good ol pals from dictionary.com.

Creation – the action or process of bringing something into existence

I couldn’t have defined that better myself. We are about to learn the process of bringing a woman into existence. What’s the best way to do this? We go to the Bible!

Genesis 2:18-23 explains exactly how we were “brought into existence”.

Here in verse 18, God already saw that Adam had a need and knew how to meet that need for Adam. This right here establishes God’s purpose for creating woman, to be “an help meet for him”. Now when it comes to this people take it and run with it saying that this gives men clearance to run over woman. They try to use this scripture to validate a man treating a woman any kind of way. We will get more into this later though….

In verses 19 &20, we see that not only do we have a purpose but also there is a purpose for creating man as well. This goes back to equality. Although Adam had it all and even had responsibility, he still needed help to fulfill his purpose. Woman was important to create in order for man to complete his responsibility to the Lord. No wonder we are such treasures to these men! Ha!

This is probably my favorite few verses in this passage of scripture. In verses 21-23, we see the full picture of the creation of woman.

God’s creative work was not complete until he made woman. What makes woman such a unique creation? She could have been made from dust of the ground but instead she was made from man’s flesh and bone, his rib. Adam needed help so God took a part of him, enhanced that part of him, and gave Adam that part to make him whole and complete. Therefore, we are a valuable part of creation.

When God created woman, He created woman in a way that would make her valuable to Him and also man. After woman was brought to Adam, he understood how valuable she was. That is why when it comes to dating, it is important to let the man see the value in you. This is why it’s the man that pursues the woman. Woman is the missing puzzle piece to the completion of the responsibility. The man has to go find that piece of the puzzle that will complete him. This is how it was from the start and how it’s suppose to be. If he doesn’t see that treasure in you, He won’t treat you like the treasure you are.

Remember, ladies, you were created with purpose and meaning. Don’t let anyone tell you that you hold no value and that you have no meaning to life. There was no mistake in creation when it came to bringing woman into existence. Walk these next few days like a valuable part of God’s creation. Don’t let any man treat any less than the prize you are!

That is all for Part 2! Thanks for reading! You don’t want to miss the next one… our roles as women will be discussed.
