Motivation Monday: Artificial Flavoring

Today, I was eating a fruit snack. When I looked on the package I saw the words “no artificial flavoring”. I laughed because I knew in my mind even though there was no artificial flavoring, there IS artificial SOMETHING in the snack. Those words are just there to comfort you. I learned something from this….
Don’t let this world fool you, it’s more artificial than it displays sometimes. It’s very easy nowadays to be something your not and not stay true to yourself especially when it comes to faith. It’s easy now more than ever to find comfort in this world. I’m a witness.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭
When you conform yourself to the world, you become artificial. Everyday you gradually become more comfortable in being apart of the world and in the trends set by society. You become like the world and deciphering good from bad becomes confusing. You can look a certain way and easily deceive yourself into thinking it’s ok.
That’s why it’s important to stay grounded and rooted.
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2:6-7‬ ‭
So what if I don’t wear makeup? So what if I choose to wear skirts and dresses instead of pants? So what if I choose to go to Bible Class rather hang out? So what if I can quote 1,000 scripture verses by memory?
I’d rather be spiritually organic than naturally artificial! I’d rather be the true me, the one God intended me to be. Not what the world says I should be. I’m proud to be uncomfortable in this comfortable world!

I hope this motivates someone today to just keep pushing and stay rooted. Continue to be original and organic. Stay true to yourself and be who God made you to be!
